The Mission of Hope

Hope Reformed Church exists to make and mature disciples through God’s Word for God’s glory. This mission is based on the same mission that Jesus gave the disciples in the Great Commission.

In Matthew 28:18–20 we read, “And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’”

The first part of our mission comes directly from the words of Jesus. We exist to “make disciples.” The mission begins in our own families, workplaces, and neighborhoods. As Christians, we are each called to share the Good News of the Gospel with those around us, inviting others to join us as we follow Christ. We believe that the best way to make disciples in our community is to be a good neighbor and love our neighbors, as we share the Gospel with them and pray for them.

The second part of our mission is to mature disciples. This is also from the Great Commission because the church is called to teach each disciple to observe all that Jesus commanded. Another way of saying “mature disciples” is discipleship. It is our goal to see discipleship take place as we live together, learn together, and work together.

At Hope Reformed Church, believe that the Bible is God’s Word. As we seek to make and mature disciples we do so relying on the Word of God as the framework or structure. As we read, teach through, pray and sing God’s Word, and as we share this with those around us, we believe that many will come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and that each of us will grow in our walk with God.

Whether you are curious about who Jesus is, or are a committed Christian looking for a place to grow in your relationship with God and other Christians, we believe that you will find a home at Hope! You are welcome to join us for worship on Sunday mornings at 10:30 am at the Millbury High School media center or contact us via phone or email to connect in a prayer meeting, Bible study, or individually.
